The Zacatecas 15-50 Plan

The State of Zacatecas in Central Mexico remains one of the least evangelized areas of Mexico. There are hundreds of villages without an evangelical church.

The Plan: Raise up 15 workers and reach 50 towns or villages

Phase One: A Radio Program

At this time the program is on the radio Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for five minutes. Our goal is to have a daily ten minute radio program that would consist of a Christian song and a short daily devotion. Each week a Christian booklet or literature will be offered free to those who write into the radio program. This would create a data base of names and addresses of those that appear to be seekers. We will run the radio program for six months and then decide if enough names have been collected to begin personal follow up and if the program needs to run for a longer period of time. This will give us time to identify and recruit the team.

Phase Two: The Vision of 15
We will begin to pray for and recruit national workers that want to buy into this vision. The goal is to raise up a team of 15 workers. Phase two will be happening at the same time we are running the radio program and collecting names.

Phase Three: Precision Harvesting

Precision harvesting is identifying those who have interest in the gospel and concentrating on those people. For example, if you have 100 people and 5 out of the hundred are interested in the gospel you would have to talk to all of them to be able to identify the 5 that are open. If there was a way to identify the 5 open people you could save a lot of time and be more fruitful. Radio is the tool to help us identify those that are interested in spiritual matters allowing us to focus first on them. When a person takes time to send a letter/email requesting Christian Literature that shows they are open and interesting in knowing more about spiritual matters. In Phase Three we will begin to follow up and evangelize by going to seek out these people in their villages.

Phase Four: Reach Fifty Villages or Towns
In areas where we have clusters of new believers, we want to start study groups (cell groups) with the ultimate goal of seeing a church planted. Our goal is to establish 50 churches or small groups of converts in fifty unreached villages or under churched towns. To reach this goal we will need to build a team of 15 workers to do the evangelism and discipleship. This plan is based on our own experiences and similar to other programs that have been fruitful in other parts of the world.

We need donors, who are committed to evangelism, discipleship and church planting, to help cover the cost of radio time, literature, postage, cost of equipment and fuel cost to follow up contacts. If you'd like to know how you can partner in these needs please feel free to write us.

Once again we want to say, thank you, for your friendship and care. May the Lord bless each one of you!!!

Serving Him together, Lowell & Sheri
